Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at the Olympic contest. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci at just six years old. She competed for the very first time in the 1969 National junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she was crowned champion. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three gold medals while in 1973 and 1974 she was the junior all-around champion. At her first competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion winning four gold and one silver. In 1976, she won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She also was the first female to ever dismount parallel bars using a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career as an entertainment professional during her teenage years when she appeared in a figure skating duo with their sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her journey into the entertainment industry during her teenage years. When she was a child, she began performing as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating performance that was accompanied by theatrical music.

Norman was known for her outstanding defense at Brockport. She was a defensive player of the ball. She brings a lot of intangibles this year for the Lady Lakers.
